Microsoft KIN One and Two on sale online today, Stores May 13th

For you hip high school kids who use your phone more to text and go on facebook than to actually talk (I also am guilty of this) and those of you who have been waiting patiently for a successor to the Sidekick then you probably have been waiting for this phone since its announcement. Both phones are exclusive to Verizon but a crafty coder found both AT&T and T-mobile frequencies in the software code leading us to believe that it won’t be long until they are available for other providers. The KIN One is $49.99 w/ 2 year contract. The KIN Two is $99.99 w/ 2 year contract.

The iPad 3G is here. What’s the difference?

So the iPad 3G is here. You ask “What’s the difference?”. Lets take a look:
- iPad 3G can go online using AT&T’s 3G wireless network just like a cell phone. Sorry lads, the iPad still cannot make calls. Remember you have to sign up with AT&T. No need to sign a contract. $15/250mb use $30/unlimited use.
- Users are reporting 10% shorter battery life. To be expected since it has 5 antenna’s looking for AT&T’s 3G signal.
- Netflix streaming video quality is automatically lowered when streaming from 3G network. I assume this is to prevent from bogging down AT&T’s wireless network.
- The iPad 3G is $130 more.
- The iPad 3G has a AGPS chip. This is so it could more accurately locate you when you are using GPS out in the wild.
- The top back of the device is plastic instead of aluminum. This is for a better 3G signal.

The iPad 3G is on sale now.

Lightning Round: Palm says will you buy me? HP says ok. STILL waiting for iPhone 3G tethering? AT&T’s STILL not ready.

Hp buys Palm for $1.2 billion bucks. That’s $5.70 a share for you business types. HP plans to use Palm’s mobile interface webOS for Slates, Smart phones, and other devices. Palm’s CEO Jon Rubinstein will stay with the company. Deal should be done by July 31st.
Internet tethering on the iPhone is the ability to connect your iPhone to a laptop to use the 3G Internet like a modem. Many Carriers in other countries enable tethering in iPhones. AT&T on the other hand doesn’t. Back in November 2008 AT&T said it was coming soon. Engadget went to AT&T to ask whats up and in short AT&T said that they are scared that their network is not ready yet for that high amount of traffic. When will they be ready? AT&T says “soon”.
Sorry Kids, the new iPhones iChat feature will most likely only work on WiFi.

While doing some sniffing though Apple’s Software Development Kit for iPhone OS 4, someone at macrumors found some code suggesting that the front facing camera will only work in WiFi. This is probably a blessing in disguise and made with AT&T’s 3G network in mind. Imagine, an already strained AT&T network being further crushed by video chat traffic. Are you still bummed about this news? I didn’t think so.
Also found in the code was video support for Apple’s new Xbox live-like gaming service “Game Center” coming with iPhone OS 4. It is entirely possible to be in a heated Words with Friends match and seeing the person on the other side flexing their brain muscles or, more unfortunately, you starting a UNO game and someone you’re playing with having the camera facing his penis. Like Chatroulette for your iPhone.
You’ll be able to dowload iPhone OS 4 for the iPhone 3G/3GS and 2nd/3rd gen iPod Touch this summer. iPad’s this fall. Sorry 1st gen iPhone owners.
